Radiation Therapist

The radiation therapists operate the linear accelerator and give patients their daily radiation treatments under the supervision of the radiation oncologist.

Amanda Lisher
Amanda graduated Summa Cum Laude from Washburn University with a bachelor of Health Science, Medical Imaging. She served as a radiologic technologist for two years before becoming a radiation therapist. She has been serving in this capacity since 2003. Amanda is registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, and is licensed by the Kansas Board of Healing Arts.

Caleb Lynott
Caleb graduated with a degree in radiation therapy and a bachelor's degree in radiation sciences from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He is registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, and is licensed by the Kansas Board of Healing Arts.

Dosimetrist

Your dosimetrist works under the supervision of the board-certified radiation oncologist. The dosimetrist takes the dosage of radiation you were prescribed and determine how to deliver the dose and will calculate the amount of time it will take to deliver the dose.

Suzy Bradley
Suzy completed her Medical Dosimetry training at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1997. Her training in Radiation Therapy was completed in 1993, also at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She received her Radiologic Technology and Bachelor of Health Science degree from Washburn University. She is registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board, as well as being a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and the American Association of Medical Dosimetrist. She is licensed by the Kansas Board of Healing Arts.

Oncology Certified Nurse

Our oncology certified nurses specialize in the care of cancer patients and their unique needs. They work with the team to care for you and your family and will explain possible side effects of treatment and how you can manage them. In addition, they assess how you are doing throughout treatment and will help you cope with the changes you may experience.

Janice Schwartz
Janice Schwartz, RN, OCN, has more than thirteen years of experience and is a board-certified oncology nurse. During her nursing career she has received extensive recognition. Schwartz was granted the Excellence in Nursing Award and was awarded the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Vision Award.

Her passion for community and patient education is evident. She founded, and remains Chapter President of, the Lawrence Sunflower Oncology Nursing Society. The society provides education for Douglas County nurses and organizes community education events. Schwartz is proud to help the group raise money to provide cancer awareness and prevention materials and equipment to local not-for-profit health care facilities. Schwartz has initiated multiple cancer support groups and helped bring the American Cancer Society “I Can Cope” program to Lawrence.
