Board Certified Radiation Oncologist

Your radiation oncologist will oversee your radiation therapy treatments. They work with the other members of the team to develop your treatment plan and ensure that treatment is given safely and accurately. Your radiation oncologist will monitor your progress and adjust treatment to ensure the radiation is hitting its target while minimizing side effects.

Darren Klish, MD
Dr. Klish earned a masters degree in public health at Yale University before completing his medical degree and residency training at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Klish also received training at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX in the management of breast, lung, prostate, lymphoma, brain and gastrointestinal malignancies.

Dr. Klish is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He
has authored both basic and clinical science research articles and textbook chapters related to radiation therapy.

In addition to clinical expertise, Dr. Klish understands how important it is to treat the whole person. He works with patients to address cultural, family and personal needs as it pertains to treatment. He partners with other care providers to help create a seamless care plan.

Dr. Klish lives in Lawrence with his wife, Laura, and their four children. Dr. Klish enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, running, biking and triathlons.
